Monica Wentworth

As a therapist, I will walk alongside you through whatever challenges life has presented.  It is my joy and passion to support you in taking next steps, no matter how small, on your health journey.  I love working with women and teenage girls to develop strength and skills to manage depression, anxiety, self-harm, negative self-image and self-esteem, and life transitions/adjustments. I believe that every woman (yes, you!) deserves to know, feel, and understand her worth and value here on this earth. Sometimes past experiences and a lifetime of beliefs lead women to a place of doubt, shame, fear, and hopelessness. I whole-heartedly believe in the therapeutic process to heal and catalyze growth. I will always focus on your goals for yourself and utilize therapeutic techniques to help you live the life you want to live.

I completed my graduate work at Liberty University in Mental Health Counseling and my undergraduate degree with a double-major in Psychology and Family Services from the University of Northern Iowa. I previously worked in an integrated health homes program, in-patient treatment facility for girls with mental health and substance use diagnoses, and group-homes for adults with mental health and intellectual disabilities.

I always enjoy building a therapeutic relationship with my clients. It is from my understanding of God’s grace in my life that I meet you where you are and walk alongside of you on this journey towards “better.” If you desire faith and Jesus’ life to be a part of your therapeutic journey, I love to incorporate that into the process. If not, that’s okay too! I love working with people from all spiritual backgrounds. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), trauma-informed care, and solutions-focused therapy techniques, as well as the writings of Brene Brown, Rachel Hollis, Dr. Henry Cloud, Dr. John Townsend, Judith Beck, and many others. I believe in a holistic process to healing - working on emotional, spiritual, and physical health to walk into a life of freedom. It is my joy to see you grow and change - I look forward to joining you on your journey!
